Network Sonoro 2010

Network Sonoro 2010. It has been presented these days, the sixth edition of ‘Network Sonoro’, a platform that includes over fifty events distributed throughout the region.

The list of prestigious artists participating is full of great names, from Pat Metheny to Stefano Bollani, from Paolo Fresu to Roscoe Mitchell, Ginevra Di Marco, Eumir Deodato and Philiph Harper Quartet.

The festival will spread mainly through February and March in Arezzo, Siena, Pisa, Grosseto, Massa and Florence provinces. Mostly devoted to jazz, it develops a vision on experimental music too, involving particular meetings between musicians.

This experience of networking music gives new visibility to artist often not so known, linking them with very special personalities. Network Sonoro is a macro-festival that involves other festival as Metastasio Jazz (Prato), Fosfeni (Cascina), Giotto Jazz Festival (Mugello), Grey Cat Festival (Grosseto), Jazz Cocktail (Poggibonsi), Primavera Jazz (Massa), Fabbrica Europa (Firenze), Crescendo (Firenze), Glorytellers (Firenze), Per Bussotti (Firenze) andValdarn.

Pat Metheny (One man band version), accompanied by his orchestra, will playing the at Saschall on March 16. Not to miss the Jazz Lounge Guano trio Pagano (27 February at Sala Vanni in Firenze), with a cameo by Bobby Solo’s cover of Ramblin ‘Man, and the return of the Germans Cluster (March 19 in Cascina – Pisa) of 70s and 80s electronic music.

That will be a wide variety of genres, from tradition to avant-gard. That is, for example, the musical intervent by Maurizio Frittelli that will be in Florence at the Museum Marino Marini to provide sound environment for the exhibition of Sylvano Bussotti (17 february) and Fabbrica Europa on 13 May with the premiere of The Table of Earth, in which the composer and performer David Moss will be accompanied by an interactive musical table.

The electronic music scene research will be documented by the original production ofa master of the new music such as Alvin Curran, with musicians of the center Tempo Reale (April, 9, in Cascina), the German master Alva Noto (April, 16, in Cascina), well known as a visual artist with his true name, Carsten Nicolai.
