Visit Siena

Visit Siena. Tourists that arrive in Siena on city breaks can admire the zebra-striped Dome, Baptistery and the splendid Mangia Tower from which you can enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view of the city and the communal Palazzo, which hosts twice annually the famous Palio, a bare back horse race around the square.

The two most “in” streets of the city are Via Bianchi di Sopra and Via Montanini which have elegant shops for lovers of shopping.

The next stop on from Siena is Montalcino, noted around the world for its Brunello, one of the most appreciated wines in Italy and abroad. You will find the beautiful abbey of S.Antimo in Montalcino which legend states was founded by Carlo Magno.

Before leaving the zone of Montalcino we consider making a d-tour to Pienza, a real architectural jewel, where it’s obbligatory to taste the famous “pici”, a tasty Pecorino cheese. Not far away, you pass through two stupendous towns immersed in greenery of the Val d’Orcia, San Quirico and Bagno Vignoni.

Nearby is the unmissible Monteriggioni, a medieval village celebrated for its preserved walls and Colle Val d’Elsa, famous for its crystal works. The buttonhole of the Senese region, remains San Gimignano, the magical city of towers.

Still today, after centuries, there are numerous conserved testimonies of the flourishing economy and of the wealth of the artistic tradesmen. In Senese it is possible to organise a thermal holiday of an optimal level, including the celebrated Spas of Chianciano and other local Spas.
